Politics 2008, oh yeah! Hmm, and big business fits in how??

June 30, 2008

Oh baby, I am totally digging the Obama/Clinton lovefest! They even look good in pictures together…

Aawww, so sweet, and so nice that the fighting is over, now they can snug almost PDA-like campaigning their way into a winning President and veep situation, forgiving all those personal digs not to mention the large debt.

Oh yes, the sweet smell of success is in the air, my peeps…Or is it?

So far we have all attorneys married to what: other attorneys…great. At least McCain’s wife owns a large beer distributionship, which should make most men drool, no?

Ok, I’ll quit joking around now…

Alright, someone’s got to do it so, I’ll be the one to raise the ’spousal’ -key to winning- thing bc in my opinion, it matters to American’s. We tend to like a certain ’image’ of our president and his/her spouse and in the general corp world also. We will openly chat about whose wife/hub is ‘bringin’ em’ down’ on the job. And I’ve seen it happen in the corporate world, it’d never be spoken, there’s no ‘uh say, Jane/Jim, uh we’d give you the promotion but your wife/hubby, you know, he’s/she’s a buffoon/drunken idiot/nutter…’

Ah, and so it is the same in politics, si or no? Hmm, what’ll it be now? Michelle Obama’s a total racist? Or Bill is a womanizer who’s bound to F up Hill’s chance at the gold? He seems to have withstood this charge before though, and no she isn’t a great female role model bc of it. Or will it be that Cindy’s beer and John’s lack of viagra will kill the deal? (Doesn’t the woman know that’s what your tennis instructor  is for? jk…kind of…)

But does any of this really matter in the grander ‘big business’ scheme of things really? How will Obama be bought and paid for? All the others have already proven that they are, and can therefore be manipulated but what about Barack, can he resist the multi-national pressure? I’m going to say: maybe not…

Tomorrow, a more in depth look…involving all of that ‘grander multi-national scheme’ I’ll start with the media giants (Vivendi and Vodaphone and their holdings, for starters), then I thought I’d cover the oil industries : ) (oh the pain and the joy, $75 to fill my car’s gas tank, expletive, expletive, expletive…), and then, you know, if you any other suggested industries you think require  a google/look-see and a few words from me : ) – let me know…

It’s what I live for, writing and serving you all in some minor way : )

My private peeps: Lmdevin@att.net or Lillian@lilliandevin.com and know that I luv you no less for not commenting publicly but that I probably will answer you here, sometimes I like to get off this laptop and get to the business of living!

My intake interview with Obama. What? You don’t think I can do it?

June 19, 2008

Analyzing Obama’s ‘change’ strategy…before we begin let me just add this: I must admit, I actually do like Barack Obama, though he has several strikes against him (all mentioned below) but I’m patiently waiting for both candidates to name their veeps and to clearly state their plans. I am truly an Independent ’swing’ voter this time…let the Q & A begin! One good reason for Obama would be the choosing of supreme court justices…but they both better convince me of something soon : )

Ed, nice Liberal vs Conservative rant : ) will address your points very soon…I had something a little more fun planned for manana though, we’ll see, maybe I’ll change it up for you. I like your fury, you know, being a firebrand myself…

Anonz, sweet pea, any comment on Ed’s rant, you are my reigning Repub ; ) or are you now Independent like me?

Here’s that interview…

Me: Mr. Obama, oh may I call you Barack? I have some very difficult questions for you and I’m positive you’ll want to give fancy and evasive answers but please let’s stick to both our roots and speak from the heart, shall we? So, listen, I’m an adult, I can understand you go to church and take from the sermon what you want but…how do you justify, er, I mean, ‘feel’ about exposing your two young daughters to what have been labeled ‘white hatred speech’?

Obama: I never meant for it to get this much press and air time. My daughters are technically part white…in fact, some of my family members are all white, including their grandmother.

Me: Right. Yes. Well, then Barack, I hear you’d like to end the Iraq war? If that’s so, wouldn’t a meeting with the general(s) in charge be helpful? It’s just, uhm, you know, a question people are wondering…that’s all…

Obama: Who now? Listen, my plan is to disarm I’m-a-dinnah-jacket with my diplomatic and charismatic oratory skills. I believe we all want the same thing after all…a peaceful resolution to Middle East conflicts. We probably should be back in Afghanistan but I am going to suggest a meeting with Taliban leaders to administer a peaceful end to the conflict there as well.

Me: sir, no disrespect intended but the Middle East would prefer it if we were all Muslim, but at any rate, they’re already lobbing bombs in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and I’m-a-dinnah-jacket is somewhat of a loose cannon, not to mention the Israeli/Palestinian thing…do you really believe you can make headway in the region through diplomatic avenues? I do wish you success with that, I’d like that type of resolution. But, let’s move on…it’s been openly expressed that you hold the most left voting record in congress, is this true, Barack?

Barack: Diplomacy will rule, change will happen, and yes, it is true, are you a conservative here on a conspiracy mission?

Me: No, I’m an Independent, and I am just trying to understand your clear and definitive plan of action on day one of ‘change’ in the White House, do you have a plan, sir, cause we’d all love to hear it. And does Hillary stand a chance at the veep position?

Barack: All of these answers and more will be revealed well before voting in November, my aides assure me of that.

Me: Thank you for your time, ladies and gentlemen, that was Barack Obama. Are we all any clearer on his stance on anything but ‘change?’ Hmmm, I can give you change, did you want nickels, dimes or quarters…he he he…

Ok, now, for my opinion on a few items Ed threw out there…

1.     I don’t think Obama hates America he just sees a lot of corruption guised as ‘business as usual’ methinks his soulful speaking and this, oh, what would you call it: ’naivete’, is part of his general appeal…so far. I could be wr-wr-wrong though, it’s happened before.

2.     Hillary may be a bit tunnel vision, true enough, but how she and her ‘hozeband’ (Ed’s term, not mine) handle his propensity to step out is on them, I don’t care, I think she stays bc who has ever elected a divorced male or female, let alone a ‘first’ female President?

3.     Whatever the Clinton’s personal attachment to each other may be, it’s easy to assess that part and parcel of that attachment is their ambition to be THE power couple of influence in the whole friggin’ world!! It’s classic political ‘mine, all mine’ mentality, it’s a strong beverage to partake of…and they have drunk the Kool-aid (and added tequila)!

So, tell me, which way do you swing? uh - easy, I’m talking politics here ; )

Left off pic of me today, wouldn’t want any of you to get attached to my ‘form’ ala Eckhard tolle, when there’s so much more to me.  Love that book…
